White House Champions of Change: Cesar Chavez Life and Legacy

The White House Champions of Change program highlights the stories and examples of people across the Country that represents President Obama’s vision of an American that is built to last. People that are working day in and day out to grow the economy and restore middle-class security through projects and initiatives that move their communities forward, including providing education and skills for American workers, supporting innovation and manufacturing, recognizing the importance of clean energy, and investing in our human capital and infrastructure.

Local Small Business Contracting Opportunity – Offender Electronic Monitoring Services

The Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (DOCR) is soliciting Proposals from qualified entities to provide Federal Communications Commission (FCC), approved electronic monitoring services (Global Positioning Satellite and Radio Frequency Service) for criminal offenders.   The County intends to enter into a contract with a single vendor or with two separate vendors for services and equipment.

2012 Baltimore Community Fellows Application Now Open

OSI-Baltimore is now accepting applications for the 2012 class of Baltimore Community Fellows!

We are pleased to announce that this year there will be two new fellowships in addition to the usual ten slots. The two new fellowships, sponsored by the Open Society Foundations’ Campaign for Black Male Achievement, will support individuals working with black men and boys in the areas of education, family, and work.

The Baltimore Community Fellowships program seeks dynamic activists and social entrepreneurs interested in implementing projects that address problems in underserved communities in Baltimore city. For fellowships beginning in the fall of 2012, awards are in the amount of $60,000 over 18 months.
